Havfolket (The Sea People)
This painting gave me much joy to paint, but also trong emotions. The sea is beautiful with big waves, but it is also reminding us that the water can be both dangerous and uncontrollable, flowing in all directions. The painting is a tribute to the people in Norway that have lived along our long coastline and their hard work. Many living from fishing in the raging seas and some drowning risking their lives to feed their families and others. For their dedication, bravery, loyalty, hard work, seclusion, togetherness and love for their families and friends.
